Safety and warning instructions
WARNING!
- Keep children away from the Qeridoo during assembly. When handling moving components, take care not to trap your hands and fingers. Make sure that children are out of reach when folding and unfolding the Qeridoo in order to avoid injuries.
- Packaging materials and protective caps are to be removed and disposed of in accordance with the environmental guidelines applicable in your region.
- The recommended tightening torques can be found at the following link: qeridoo.de/go/drehmomente
- The safety and accident prevention regulations applicable in your region as well as legal provisions such as the road traffic regulations (StVO) must additionally and, in case of doubt, primarily be observed. In addition, inform yourself about country-specific regulations and traffic rules if you wish to take the Qeridoo on trips abroad. Make sure that the Qeridoo is only used by persons who are suited to operating it. Users must have completely read and understood the user manual.
- Do not load the trailer beyond the specified maximum weight. Distribute the load evenly. For this, observe the information in the manual on
loading, permissible total weight, nose weight range (at the tow bar head) and rated load (maximum payload). Overloading impairs the handling and braking effect and can lead to accidents. - The handling of the bicycle changes considerably when towing a trailer. Ride especially carefully downhill, in curves and when braking. The attached trailer considerably extends the braking distance of the bicycle. Always keep a sufficient safety distance. Additionally observe the information in the manual.
- Only mount and use original accessories
and spare parts that are manufactured or recommended by Qeridoo. The use of other products leads to exclusion of liability. When using accessories, these must be deducted from the permissible total weight. The empty weight including fitted accessories
plus payload must not exceed the permissible total weight. Additionally observe the information in the manual. - Observe the specified nose weight (minimum and maximum nose weight). The nose weight is the force acting on the trailer coupler of the bicycle. Additionally observe the information on determining the nose weight in the manual.
- The use of a trailer in combination with an e-bike (EPAC) may be restricted or prohibited nationally.
- Strap the child in with the restraint system during every ride. Make sure that the harness fits correctly and all harness buckles are engaged. Before every ride, explain to the children that they must behave appropriately and that releasing the safety harnesses, excessive rocking or leaning out is strictly forbidden. Dismount from the bicycle at curbs and pass them only slowly. Only set off when
all children are properly strapped in and wear a correctly fitted bicycle helmet. - The inner part of the 3-in-1 canopy must be closed during the ride in order to protect the children from insects and small stones with the integrated insect protection net. To protect against
exhaust fumes, the window foil should additionally be closed in road traffic. - Only one child is to be transported in the one-seater and a maximum of two children in the two-seater. These are secured by means of a harness system and wear suitable clothing as well as a correctly fitted bicycle helmet. In some countries, wearing a helmet is required by law. A balanced load distribution must be ensured. Take the maximum weight and height specifications from the table in the “Performance limits” section of the manual of your Qeridoo.
- The seat unit is not suitable for children under 6 months. Always use the restraint system.
- Never exceed the maximum child weight per child specified for your model.
- Never leave the children in the Qeridoo unsupervised and make sure that they feel comfortable. On longer rides, take regular breaks in which the children can move. Ensure sufficient fluid intake. Ensure good ventilation and adapt the children's clothing to the weather conditions as well as to the temperature in the interior.
- Do not let the child play with the product.
- Make sure that the restraint system is correctly adjusted for the weight and body height of the child. Check regularly whether the harness still fits correctly.
- This product is not suitable for jogging or skating without a jogger wheel and hand brake. With the optional jogger set, the instructions in the corresponding accessory manual apply.
DANGER!
- Before use, check whether the bicycle is suitable for towing a trailer. For this, observe the operating instructions of the bicycle manufacturer. The use of a Qeridoo on bicycles with a carbon rear frame is not recommended. The additional load at the connection between frame and coupler can cause damage to the frame. Towing a trailer with an unsuitable bicycle can lead to loss of control and serious accidents.
- Bike trailers may only be used for the purpose intended by the manufacturer. Any use contrary to this purpose is dangerous and not permitted. Improper use can lead to serious injuries or death.
- Always operate and secure the connecting device (coupler) according to the instructions. A connecting device that is not correctly secured can come loose during the ride and lead to a serious accident.
- Before every use, make sure that all locks are engaged. In addition, wrap the safety strap of the tow bar around the tow bar in such a way that it does not hang down in the ready position and cannot catch on or drag against obstacles.
- Before every use on the bicycle, check the connection of the coupler and make sure that the safety strap is attached. In addition, take care that it cannot get into moving parts of the towing bicycle. Do not use a washer or similar at the connection point between bicycle frame and coupler, as this can impair the stability of the connection.
- Attach lighting equipment (e.g. rear light, reflectors) correctly to the trailer according to the instructions. Use only suitable lights at the intended attachment points. For operating the rear light, the enclosed information of the manufacturer must be observed. In all operating modes, the rear light must be switched on in darkness or poor visibility conditions. In trailer mode, the pennant must additionally be attached (StVZO). In general, we recommend the use of the pennant. Non-observance can lead to serious accidents.
- Before every ride, satisfy yourself of the proper and technically perfect condition of the Qeridoo. Before the first use as well as regularly in further use, check all screw and split-pin connections for firm seating, in particular the tow bar holder, the spokes as well as the thru-axles of the wheels. Furthermore, check the connecting device (coupler) for correct seating and perfect function as well as the frame for cracks, deformations or other damage. Check the safety harnesses and restraint systems for perfect condition and correct function, the lighting equipment and reflectors for complete and correct attachment as well as the tyres for condition and correct tyre pressure. Make sure that the folding mechanism is fully engaged. Before every ride, check all wheels individually. Check by lightly shaking and pulling whether they are securely engaged. They must not come loose by themselves. Also check the functionality of the towing vehicle before every ride.
- Use a safety harness as soon as the child can sit independently.
- Before use, make sure that all locks are engaged. Carry out a visual inspection and additionally check, if present, whether the side fixations are closed and the straps at the back of the seat bench are tightened.
- Make sure that the child is out of reach when folding and unfolding the trailer in order to avoid injuries.
- Always make sure that the parking brake is applied when putting the child in and taking it out. Always take care that the parking brake audibly engages when it is applied. If it does not fully engage, the wheels are not securely locked and the Qeridoo can roll away. Any loads attached to the push handle and/or to the back of the backrest and/or to the sides impair the stability of the Qeridoo.
