1st place among the double seaters. One competitor received the same quality rating of 4.6 because it was also downgraded for harmful substances. In the individual ratings in all other categories we were rated significantly better. Seven double seaters and three single seaters were tested. We ourselves were only represented with one double seater in the test.

The Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition was tested alongside nine other child bicycle trailers on riding experience, handling, child-friendly design, safety and durability, and harmful substances – and achieved the best results in the industry. In particular safety and durability were rated “very good”.
However, using a new test method, Stiftung Warentest detected PFAS in the side fabric of our test product. PFAS are “forever materials”, which are hard to break down in nature and are not harmful to humans. In the test, elevated PFAS levels were detected in 9 out of 10 products. Stiftung Warentest therefore gave all products a poor overall rating.
The result is explained by the test method. The quality rating could not be better due to the poor result in the “harmful substances” category. Stiftung Warentest refers to this approach as “downgrading”.
Our products comply with all legal requirements. However, we want to exceed them. Accordingly, we have already found an independent partner that can apply the new test procedure used by Stiftung Warentest with us. We will adapt our supply chain accordingly. Customers who feel uncomfortable with the test results for environmental reasons are offered free recycling of their products after use.
Our assessment of the results
Riding and pushing: overall grade Good (1.8)
The Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition shows outstanding driving behavior and reliable braking properties. The use as a buggy, rated very good, deserves particular emphasis. Overall the trailer offers the best riding experience among the tested double seaters.
Handling: overall grade Good (2.0)
Handling of the Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition is user-friendly and easy. The user manual and labelling are easy to understand. Assembly as well as hitching, unhitching and folding can be carried out without problems. Seating and securing the children as well as loading luggage and goods is well solved. Particularly positive are the conversion and use as a buggy, both of which received very good ratings.
Child-friendly design: overall grade Good (2.4)
The Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition offers a child-friendly design with high seating comfort, effective ventilation and reliable rain and sun protection. These aspects contribute to a pleasant riding experience for the little passengers and make the trailer one of the best in this category.
Safety and durability: overall grade Very Good (1.5)
In terms of safety and durability, the Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition sets standards. Visibility in road traffic is outstanding and the harness system is safe and easy to operate. Headroom is very good and thanks to the head protectors a lateral safety distance is also provided. This is by far the best result in the test. The sturdiness of the frame and tow bar also impresses with very good ratings, making the trailer stand out in this category.
Harmful substances: overall grade Poor (4.6)
Despite the good ratings in the other categories, PFAS were also detected in the Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition. This leads to a downgrade and a poor overall rating in this category. It should however be emphasized that, according to Stiftung Warentest, the PFAS found are not harmful to health.
Our conclusion
The Qeridoo Kidgoo 2 Fidlock Edition deservedly secured 1st place and achieved outstanding results in the categories most important to us. Especially in terms of safety it convinced with very good ratings and lives up to the motto “Safely on the move”. The downgrade in the “harmful substances” category led to an overall poor quality rating; the good individual ratings in “riding and pushing”, “handling” and “child-friendly design”, as well as the very good individual rating in “safety and durability”, did not feed into the overall result due to Stiftung Warentest's rating system.

The Qeridoo team develops bicycle trailers for the widest range of demands in the internal development department and the in-house research laboratory at the German headquarters in Buchholz.
