How safe are the Qeridoo children's bicycle trailers for my child?

The safety of children is Qeridoo's highest priority. All children's bicycle trailers have a reinforced aluminum frame for all-round protection as well as patented head protectors, which create an important lateral safety clearance in the event of a tip-over. There is also ample headroom, so that in a tip-over there is no contact with the ground or the frame; in bike mode the height-adjustable handle additionally serves as a roll bar.


Inside, an individually adjustable 5-point safety harness provides secure and comfortable support. For maximum visibility in road traffic, a rear light, front and rear reflectors, reflective strips on the wheels and in the fabric design as well as a safety pennant are included, and the pennant must be fitted in bike mode.

The Qeridoo children's bicycle trailer fits most bicycles thanks to the universal coupler supplied. From model year 2025, selected new Qeridoo models use the new becco coupling system.

For special axles or frames you may need suitable accessories – for thru axles, quick-release axles or solid axles, for example.

The exact axle data help you find the right coupler – for that there is the Axle-Finder and the Coupler guide from Qeridoo.

Two baby inserts – such as the Qeridoo Baby shell and the standard Hammock – can technically be fitted next to each other in the two-seater model.

In such a case the baby inserts are placed directly against each other. Alternatively, there is also room for a second child without a baby insert next to the Baby shell or the standard Hammock.

Because of its width, the Qeridoo Hammock PLUS does not fit twice into the two-seater.

Here only one Hammock PLUS can be used.

The seat angle on all our Qeridoo children's bicycle trailers is fixed at about 125°, a very comfortable sitting position in which children can also sleep soundly during the ride.

As the manufacturer we recommend using a helmet during the ride, or alternatively the height-adjustable Qeridoo Headrest – for more safety and support.


In principle, however, there is no legal helmet requirement for your child.

Yes, all our Qeridoo models fold up very easily. That way you can stow the bicycle trailer away to save space in just a few steps, or transport it comfortably – ideal at home, on the road or in the trunk.

Your Qeridoo trailer can be used in various modes. All models have trailer mode and can be used as a bicycle trailer. In addition, all models have a 360° swiveling buggy wheel, so you can also push the trailer comfortably in Buggy Mode. Apart from the QUPA model, all trailers (including the QUPA Plus) also have an air-filled buggy wheel that can easily be set to Walker Mode. 


You can also upgrade the models to further modes, for example with the Joggerwheel, the Ski + Hike set or the Cargo insert plate

Rain, sun, insects or flying stones are no problem at all thanks to the 3-in-1 weather canopy. The Qeridoo bicycle trailer is the partner for almost any weather; with the roll-out splash guard and the sun protection you can enjoy your adventures all year round. 


The UV protection in our windows additionally provides UV sun protection of 50+.


For longer rides in the rain our rain cover can be added. 

To make the Qeridoo bicycle trailer glide along pleasantly, it has a unique leaf-spring damping system. It cushions every ride softly and, thanks to the damping, reduces rocking. It adjusts automatically to the load and is the reason our little passengers so readily doze off during the ride.

With our baby inserts your child can ride in the Qeridoo children's bicycle trailer from the fourth week of life until it can sit up unaided.


The Qeridoo baby inserts are approved for Buggy Mode and bike mode. The conditions for safe use apply, as stated in the user manual and on the respective product page.
